The R&B singer/songwriter Victoria Monét has unveiled a bright new music video for her most recent single, "On My Mama," in advance of the release of Jaguar II, her much anticipated first studio album. Monét's latest music video is a refined, genuine tribute to 2000s Southern Black culture. It features a diverse cast including Chalie Boy, whose "I Look Good" is notably sampled in "On My Mama," as well as her mother and daughter. A revolving collection of period-appropriate outfits, including jersey dresses, big white gas station tees and multicolored durags, baggy jeans combined with midriff-baring tops, and midriff-baring tops, are seen on Monét in the music video, which was directed by Child. The "On My Mama" music video is an enormous hit, with shoutouts to Ciara, Destiny's Child, and M.A. in addition to adoring displays of many Black Greek letter organizations and amusing Black social media memes.
As the third single from Jaguar II, "On My Mama" comes after the Lucky Daye-assisted "Smoke" and "Party Girls" (featuring Buju Banton). The follow-up to 2020's Jaguar, a luxurious EP that marked Monét's first appearance on the Billboard 200 (No. 174), Jaguar II is scheduled for release on August 25. Jaguar II will also include collaborations with Earth, Wind & Fire and Hazel Monét, her 2-year-old daughter, in addition to the aforementioned duets. Following the release of Jaguar II, Monét will embark on The Jagaur Tour, her first headlining trek, which will get under way on September 6 at Detroit's Majestic Theatre. The Grammy-nominated performer will go to a number of locations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, including New York City, London, Toronto, and Houston.
