Steve Lacy released his new song "Mercury" today, along with a music video. Lacy's first new single since 2019 comes from his upcoming album Gemini Rights. The new track, which blends 60s Brazilian bossa nova and 70s funk styles, was written and produced entirely by the Compton-born musician. "Gemini/I'm a legend and a myth/Who never wins/And may never play again/Keep falling in (Keep falling in, yeah)/ Lacy sings in the first verse, "Love so fast and back out again/Speeding/When I should ease it." Lacy's first new single since 2019 comes from his upcoming album Gemini Rights.Lacy can be seen moving around a fenced-in square inside a warehouse wearing a white shirt with a S on the front and a red target on the back, black pants, and black leather boots in the accompanying music video. Lacy's clothes are in tatters by the end of the video, presumably done by a dog who appears at the end.Lacy's Gemini Rights, his sophomore album, is set to be released this summer.
