Electrifying Houston rapper Paul The Kid has returned with another fire track. This is the first single of the second installment in his Ego Death mixtape series. Last year he dropped two projects; Dream, Texas and the first installment of his mixtape series, PTK1KP1:EGO. Part two will be titled PTK1KP2: DEATH dropping later this year. His goal with the split mixtapes is to show that short projects can have a conceptual meaning also. The two tapes represent Paul the Kid trying to find his “1K” form or his best self. He has truly brought his flavors to the city of Chicago and has quickly become one of my favorite up and coming rappers. His music draws sounds from artists like Tyler, The Creator, Robb Bank$ and Kendrick Lamar. On his new track “I Taste Fear”, Paul the Kid harmonizes over a dreary beat about staying on his grind despite the many fears & uncertainties in life. He shows off his versatility by switching up the delivery late in the song. I don’t know what to expect next from Paul the Kid but I think that is what intrigues me the most. Be sure to stay in tune with what he got going on.
