When it comes to the hip-hop culture here in Chicago, the South and West Sides have been at the forefront of the movement since the early 2000s. However, in the latter part of the decade, it was the city's North Side that saw an influx of new sonic landscape leaders. Rapper OG Stevo, one of Rogers Park's emerging stars, had his most successful year as an artist to watch in 2020, owing in large part to his hit tune "Don't Scuff 'Em," which had regular airplay on local radio stations and became his first video to reach 100,000 views on Youtube.The track's popularity is the result of OG Stevo's three-year process of polishing his skill. Stevo has continually showed development with his trap sound since initially emerging on our radar in 2018 with his breakout track "Lemonade."
