Migos -Avalanche [Official Music Video]

Migos are already legends in my book, taking the Rap game by storm in the 2010s as a trio who belongs at the top. Migos have created so many cadences and flows that many new artists across genres come into the game and use today. The group has been relatively quiet for the past few years and have been working on the 3rd installment of their Culture series Culture III. Although Culture II didn't resonate with me as well, it felt oversaturated and a lot of the tracks on there sounded like they just weren’t finished. When I seen the track list for Culture III I was a little worried, it reminded me of the Culture II track list. It had the big names and collabs but would it finish with the big punch? To backtrack a little further I think Culture I is a bonafide classic. The multi-platinum phenomenon released their new album on June 11th, 2021 and I can say that after the first few days I’m genuinely enjoying it. “Straightenin” was the first single released and I was in awe of how authentic this Migos sounds. They sound hungry again and I was instantly prepared for a sharper Migos album. I believe that “Avalanche” should of been their lead single. I absolutely love this song and can respect the creative turn Migos took with this one. Even though Migos are already aware of the immense impact they have had on the culture, this song feels like a self realization. “Avalanche” feels victorious, everything about this track is perfect and the chemistry is at an all time high. Beginning with The Temptations sample, Quavo slides over this jazzy, vibrant instrumental. Offset and Takeoff finish the job following up with two strong verses respectively. The visual brings the song to another level with the Migos all donning expensive wardrobe with a live band performing behind them. There are cuts throughout the song with each Migo talking about what this album means to them and the process of creating Culture III. If you haven’t heard Culture III yet, I highly recommend you give it a listen. It is finally summertime. Check out the visual for "Avalanche" below.
