Chicago is represented as a safe haven for a lot of young creatives. Artists from different backgrounds travel to the city to find their way musically. I have the pleasure of introducing you guys to MATTHEWS, a fresh rapper out of Cleveland, Ohio. MATTHEWS is someone who takes his craft very seriously, he aims to become one of the greatest of this generation. He is constantly putting in the work to be the best version of himself by writing and working in different areas of creation. His goal as an artist is to reach as many listeners as possible, and that his music be used as a reference to your walk in life. Believe it or not, “SIINERS” is his first official release! I was beyond impressed when I first heard this track. The production was done by Rashardo. The structure of the song itself is very well put together and MATTHEWS is so natural on the mic. “SIINERS” is about trying to be stronger than the materialistic things of the world. MATTHEWS aimed to escape the temptations of luxury. “I wrote this record thinking about my image, my morals and principles as an artist”, MATTHEWS says. The video was directed and edited by Korrigan Agen over at ENRG films. The song and visual go hand in hand, you see MATTHEWS waking up at a party while rapping about his vices. He begins being chased by bounty hunters looking to tempt him. I’m gonna let the product speak for itself, don’t sleep on MATTHEWS. He is releasing his first EP on all major streaming platforms soon.
