The hip-hop version of Michael Jordan has dropped his first new music in just about a year. Maryland rapper Logic released his so called last album No Pressure back in July 2020 and I believe that the album will age as a classic. I understand why Logic felt the need to retire, he has dropped a project every year since 2010. Logic left fans with a heartfelt goodbye but only sat out for a year. He first posted on social media saying “I’m back” in a statement like Jordan. The next day, “Intro” was shared. This sounds like a reintroduction to Logic the rapper. He spits a short verse over a piano beat using rhymes he wrote when he was younger. As a Logic fan, I love how hungry he sounds. Last week, he shared his new compilation project The YS Collection. ‘Young Sinatra’ was the moniker Logic used and it was a mixtape series that he released back in the early 2010s. He released 3 mixtapes in 3 years and then released YSIV (Young Sinatra 4) in 2018. “Vaccine” is the first single of what might be Logic’s return album Bobby Tarantino III. This would be his third installment in his conscious-trap mixtape series ‘Bobby Tarantino’. The track is Logic spitting 3 short, sweet and fire verses about him coming back to the rap game. He name drops BT3 and says he ready to “f**k up the game”. It is a beautiful thing to see, I have been listening to Logic since I was a kid and to see him reach the peak, retire, then come back is heart warming. I can’t wait to see what is next, stream “Vaccine” while we wait for Bobby Tarantino III.
