Nowadays, I feel that majority of mainstream artists and creators label themselves as “innovative”. The unfortunate thing is that there are only a handful of true mountain moving creators and artists in this field. Cole Bennett and Lyrical Lemonade are back with a new video for Lil Yachty’s new song “Yae Energy”. I consider Cole Bennett and Lil Yachty as innovative as they come and they only push this boundary even further with this video. On “Yae Energy”, produced by Buddah Blessed the Beat, Yachty is as charismatic and dynamic as ever. He delivers with a quick no hook verse over a speaker booming beat. The entire music video was shot on an iPhone, yes an iPhone. Cole Bennett aimed to show the power of the mini computer in this one. He wanted to let creators know that you have the power to make music videos right in your pocket. Throughout the video you see the two traveling around the downtown loop of Chicago visiting stores like CVS and restaurants like Harolds. I attended Columbia for a bit before the world changed and it honestly just blows my mind to see them casually walking down Wabash. Yachty and Cole took a trip to Guaranteed Rate Field so Yachty could hit some dingers too. Lyrical Lemonade never lets me down and is as consistent as ever in “Yae Energy”.
