Lil Tecca takes heart in the fact that he has no competition for his lover's heart. This assurance can be seen in the new music video for the 20-year-old's new single "Need Me." The new visual shows the New York artist hanging around in the projects and outside of a deli with a pretty maiden. He's then seen having a massage from his wife while sitting on a couch before they end up in his bedroom. Later in the video, he's hanging out with his gang at the park, singing along to the song. The concept here is that whether or not his spouse is around, love always follows him since they were intended to be together. He skillfully reinforces this point by sampling Brandy and Monica's iconic single "The Boy Is Mine."
First released in 2023, "Need Me" serves as both the first single and the title track for Lil Tecca's next album, TEC, which is scheduled to be released later this year. With We Love You Tecca 2, TEC will close an almost two-year gap. Gunna, Chief Keef, Trippie Redd, Nav, Lil Yachty, and Iann Dior all appeared on the 2021 LP. The "Ransom" rapper discussed We Love You Tecca 2, the follow-up to his 2019 mixtape, with VIBE in 2021. The entire We Love You Tecca [theme] and We Love You Tecca 2, in essence, are merely an energy, according to the melodic rapper. "I experience various emotions at particular times in my life, and these 2019 vibes are with me right now. anything else than We Love You Tecca 2, it really wouldn’t fit the vibe.”
