Female rap has always been special to me because it truly shows how powerful females can be when having a voice in hip-hop just like the leading male dominated artist in the industry. Artist like Lakeyah born in Milwaukee , Wisconsin but now Atlanta-based , has signed with Motown Records and is releasing her brand new single to many new ears and her loyal fans. She recurites Latto for a new song called "Mind Yo Business," which comes with a very confident music video. Lakeyah and Latto exchange bars in a garden with animal-shaped hedges below. "Mind Yo Business" comes after Lakeyah's most recent hit, "I Look Good." Prior to signing with Motown, the rapper signed with Atlanta-based label Quality Control Music. "Mind Yo Business" follows the Quality Control rapper's breakout year, in which she released two full-length projects: Due Time, in April 2021, and My Time, a Gangsta Grillz mixtape featuring DJ Drama, in September. In a statement, Habtemariam said, "Lakeyah is an amazing talent who has been perfecting her art under the mentorship of QC." "Her transition from rap prowess to lyrical singer is smooth, and we're enthusiastic about all of the amazing new music."
