Chicago is filled with many diverse and individuals as artists, the cities influence on the current state and sound of hip-hop is very obvious. With so many artists coming out and debuting everyday, FLEX SINATRA has been able to separate himself from the crowd. FLEX has been rapping for about six years now so I would call him a young veteran in this game. He stepped into his own lane early in his career and hasn’t taken his foot off the pedal. He has surrounded himself with a dope crew called RichVi$ion. Founded and growing currently in Chicago, RichVi$ion includes producer GoldHaze, Peeweedaplug who manages FLEX, DJ Lena Bandz and more. RichVi$ion is such a pure crew and I love what they are doing for the music scene in Chicago. Beyond Measure is the new project from FLEX and it definitely did not disappoint. From the very first track “Make a Song About Me”, FLEX displays how much he truly knows himself in his raps. He raps about the foreshadowing he has done for his career and the people who act like they ride for him but really don’t. When you at the bottom no one wants to rock with you, but now that FLEX has stepped into the limelight everyone wants to hit his line. My favorite track, “David Beckham” finds FLEX absolutely spitting over a sinister beat. I love his formula on a song like this because its one long verse and FLEX is able to fill every second of the instrumental with nothing but knowledge. I love how reflective FLEX is on this project, “Achievements”, which was produced by GoldHaze, is FLEX pushing himself for even more checks. You can hear how hungry he is in his raps and it is very inspiring. Beyond Measure is a short and sweet project from FLEX SINATRA that’ll have you coming back over and over again. FLEX can do it all over any instrumental that you throw at him. I highly recommend giving the project a listen. Y’all really need to get in tune with him and the rest of the squad over at RichVi$ion.
