The growth and evolution of Cordae has truly inspired me. His hunger is unmatched and the way he keeps elevating himself and his raps is a beautiful thing to see and hear. This year he has been working on starting up his label Hi Level, while also recording his new album. He announced that From a Bird’s Eye View will be available to the world on January 14th, 2022 so mark it on your calendars. His new song “Sinister” only adds onto his greatness. This track is filled with stars as Cordae tapped Lil Wayne for a verse and Hit-Boy on the production. The production gives me grimy classic/old-school East coast vibes but Cordae makes it sound so fresh. In the hook, Cordae raps about the longevity of his career and how he has set himself apart from the game. He follows up with a verse filled with bars about how fame hasn’t changed him and how he is rebirthing the hip-hop genre. Lil Wayne catches the baton pass from Cordae with ease and brings back his complex flow in a short and sweet verse. The visual finds Cordae traveling around the Hi Level offices dressed like the Black Panther party. Lil Wayne pops up during some sort of presentation from Cordae and the people in the room can do nothing but clap for the homies.
