I am always on the lookout for young music publications in the area, and I’m so glad that I came across Shell Casing. Shell Casing is a collective for the culture because they aim to break younger and lesser known artists in the Midwest, not to mention the music videos are original, entertaining, and just straight up fire. The new video from Ryan Baker at Shell Casing features fellow Chicago based rapper Choi. Choi is a rapper who mixes a West coast ride with hilarious and nonstop punch lines. “Woo” is a new track from Choi that finds him applying pressure over a heavy beat. The instrumental was produced by prod6astard. The visual was filmed in Chicago while Choi and his homies gather together for his birthday. Shell Casing catches many stunning aerial shots of the city. Throughout the rest of the video you see Choi along the lakefront, chilling at the crib and eventually gets a cake shoved in his face. Shell Casing does a great job at introducing me to new artists, and the collective is always looking to work with locals in the Chicago area. Shoutout to Choi and Shell Casing.
