Ab-Soul is back with some brand new music as he releases the New Music Video for his single "Gotta Rap." DJ Premier produced the song, while Cordell Johma directed the new video. The track appears on TDE artist TDE's recent album "HERBERT," which is his first release in six years. Ab-Soul released Herbert, his fifth studio album, in December of 2022. The 18-song collection had guest appearances from Big Sean, Lance Skiiiwalker, Joey BADA$$, Jhené Aiko, SiR, Russ, and others. The DJ Premier-produced conclusion "Gotta Rap," which features the Carson emcee opening up about his career, mental health, and other topics, received a new video today (March 21). Do What Thou Wilt, an album that Soul released in 2016, was positively appreciated. 16 songs on that full-length album were collaborations with artists like SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Bas, Teedra Moses, Rapsody, and the late Mac Miller. Do What Thou Wilt not only climbed at No. 9 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart immediately after its release but also reached the top 40 on the Billboard 200. Since then, he has contributed to tracks including "Bloody Waters," which he worked on with James Blake and Anderson.Paak, "Stix 'N Stones" by B-Real, "Trapped In" by REASON, and "Dangerookipawaa Freestyle."
