"95 Goldie," a Chicago native from the South Side of the city, is a hip-hop rapper, composer, video director, and producer. He is poised to take over the business and was born and raised in the Roseland, Beverly, and West Pullman districts in the area known as the "wild 100's,". His exquisite music and heartfelt lyrics were greatly affected by pop culture from the 1970s through the 1990s in which Goldie has merged these genres to create a unique and compelling piece.
In the new visual, 95 Goldie refers to "The barbershop" where typically Men gathered a lot when he was growing up in the late 90s to the mid 2000s. They would often have conversations pertaining to the street life, sports, music and Black culture on a daily which stuck with the rapper to talk about this in his music. Working at Mr. Tony’s barbershop sweeping hair at the age of 11, 95 Goldie wrote the video treatment he painted a picture of a younger self listening in and seeing the affects of such STREET Life which were the good, bad & ugly. He says "What better place to tell the story than the BARBERSHOP!" which you can see when your watching the new visual.
